How strict are canadian security being at airports in terms of purse size?

Question: How strict are canadian security being at airports in terms of purse size?

(Posted by: Dana G on 2010-02-16 07:18:03)

I have always taken big purses before (i.e. Winter 2009), but all these new restrictions on Carry on's; how strict are they actually being with purses? The official guideline is 10 x 12, but purse is more like 15 x 8? Will they even notice if I bring a bigger one? (I am flying out of Halifax)

Their not that strict. As long as its not humongus lolz. i have taken mine and it was a reaLly big purse. As long as they check it it will be fine. Have fun :D

I believe more important is what you are carrying in the purse rather than the purse being slightly oversize. For example, I would look at the list on the CATS website and see how many are listed as restricted that actually are in your purse. Perhaps look under "Personal Care ", "Medical ", and "Food & Beverages ". catsa.gc.ca/ Page.aspx?id= 58 &pname= CompleteItemList_ListeCompleteArticles &lang= en

Where are you going? They are less strict on national flights but super vigilant on international flights.
