Question: What are some great (party) games to play on tu b'av (if you invite some friends over) or do you like privacy?

Wouldn't it be fun to switch off the lights while your friends are at the party and see what happens! DON'T YOU PEOPLE HAVE FUN ON TU B'AV?

Make them wear hats with paint on them that glows in the dark. Then dim the lights have them find their mate. Have corresponding numbers or symbols to male/ female husband and wife on these hats (that actually match) and similar to the single men and women (matchmaking but in a particular way that THEY end up doing it, see as follows:) On the singles hats you could do symbol so simple (all the same) that it really doesn't matter or so complex (no pairs) they will just naturally "gravitate " to who they like because they will never figure the symbol out (too simple or too complex.) The symbol on the hat wouldn't determine it (they would.) And if they ask you "is this right? " then say "if you think it's right then it's right! " Don't do the matchmaking it is supposed to be up to them just encourage them in it. Then once they are "paired up " have them scavenger hunt throughout the house and the yard for items they will like. Simple things like music (love songs,) food baskets, wine, flowers or candy depending on your budget or they can scavenger hunt for "tickets " to which there is big grand prize drawing (maybe dinner for two) or other item. Do you know how to make those people chains out of folded paper? You fold paper as much as you can then cut pieces out of it and when unfolded it resembles people holding hands. Bigger pieces of paper or less folds makes larger people cut outs. You can decorate a little out of those (make a banner, line around a table cloth, etc.) or also use them for tickets they are people shaped. Gunny sack races to a finish line and egg tosses are good "pairs " games also for daytime not night time event someone has to pick a partner for those too. Sounds like fun, me I am going out I am single and I am going to go have some fun!!

Tu B'Av was originally a day of joy. Therefore, it served as matchmaking day for unmarried women during the second temple period. Today Tu B'Av is Israel is to Valentine's Day in the United States. Israeli culture does have festivities on that day. Usually it consists of singing and dancing. Edit- It is on the 15th of Av; which means this year it is on August 15th sundown to August 16th sundown.

I don't intend to wear a white gauzy dress or try to find my mate. I'm married and will still be recovering from tisha b'av.

Ever heard of Sadie Hawkins day? The unmarried girls chase the unmarried men until they catch or trap them . Then they get married.
