Both the UK and Australian departure taxes will be included in your airfare, and there is no such thing as an exit fee. So, provided you've already paid for your airfare, there is no need for you to pay anything more. I suggest you question the agency that sold you the ticket very closely, because, if they are asking for more money then it's a scam.

Like everywhere else these days we have a departure tax ...don't know exactly what it is but I'm sure it's nothing like that much & it''s usually included in the ticket price ... edit...Here you go...it's recently gone up fron $38 to $47 ..nothing considering the UK departure tax is $140 Aus australianfrequentflyer.com.au/ community/ travel-news/ departure-tax-to-rise-9-a-13472.html

I can't imagine where you could have heard about a £519 exit fee. We have a small departure tax of $47, but that is usually included in the cost of any return air ticket. There is talk of a possible rise of 20% but that would still be under $60. If someone is telling you that you must pay any more than $47, you are being scammed.

Rick, someone is pulling your chain, someone is trying to scam you. I forget what it was do me, $40 or $50, not sure, definitelyy not in the $100's.

Does that £519 exit fee include the air fare ? I've travelled out on my UK passport many times, and never paid anything like that.
