How safe is it to holiday in Lebanon?
My fiancee is half Lebanese dads side and moved out of the country when he was born because of the war in the 1980's he went back when he was 9 to visit his brother and sister who are both adult when he was born and he hasn't been back since 14years passed now so his parents are going in September and invited their son and me to meet his family etc... my dad REALLY doesn't want me to go for obvious reason the country is very unpredictable and he fears for my safety, but i feel i should go to meet my fiance's family etc.. they cannot come to us because they don't have a lot of money and they cant get Visas to come here Spain . ive read all my government warnings and what not to do etc... but how dangerous is it reallyyou still have bombs going off everynow and then though the last i think were mid April there does always seem to be trouble there, we were going to go a few years back and then Israel attacked and all the internationals were rescued by the French Navy etc my uncle is in the French Navy and said it was a very bad situation there i know thats cleared up but every few years something else happens there, i just want to be 100 % safe but i know going there i wont be but i want to be as safe as possibleYOUR hotels are definitely NOT fully booked, my fiancee's sister is on holiday with us here in Spain she is allowed a visa even though his brother isnt and she works in a hotel in Beirut and there is no one there thats how she has gotten 3months off work to come to us she said tourism is still bad
